In our jobs, we are always reminded of shielding ourselves while we're at work, using lead, tungsten, thick concrete walls, etc.

Free radicals are by-products of various metabolic activities that occur within our bodies.
Also, Our bodies also get exposed to free radicals in the environment.
How do Free Radicals Cause Damage to Cells?
Free radicals can cause damage to parts of cells such as proteins, DNA, and cell membranes by stealing their electrons through a process called oxidation. (This is why free radical damage is also called “oxidative damage” or "oxidative stress."
There are many ways to increase our intake and efficiently use antioxidants, to promote and enhance our ability to counter oxidative stress on our cells and bodies.
